[Wednesday] Ink
Tattoos. I got a lot of them. And I wouldn’t be surprised if eventually I get more. I like them and I like getting them. Each one means something or reminds me of a time in my life. I think if you’re gonna get one or however many, they should do one of those two things, mean something or remind you of something or someone important.
On my right bicep I have a lion that stands for strength. When I’m on the job chasing an unsub, I’m like a lion; fearless and dominate. I’m in control and I don’t think twice about tackling them down. That’s how I work. And not just work... I like to try to show strength in all things.
My left bicep has a tattoo of my initials in this really big script lettering. It’s something I got in college just cause I felt like it. I don’t regret getting that one but looking back if I had waited, I probably would’ve gotten something different.
On my lower back I have the word ‘freedom’ in big letters. It’s pretty self explanatory. Freedom is something I cherish… freedom from a lot of things that I’m not gonna go into.
On the back of my neck and between my shoulder blades, I have wings. Cause I know my guardian angel’s gotta be working overtime with the way I’ve made it through certain situations that I probably shouldn’t have come out of. Gotta give the guardian angel’s some credit where credit’s due.
I have the number 5742 on the top of my left foot. It was my dad’s badge number back when I was a kid. He used to watch me play basketball in the neighborhood and always told me I was leading with my left foot. Before I left for college with a football scholarship, I got that tattoo. Reminds me of my dad and also to mix it up sometimes. Not to be predictable.
I have ‘I love her’ on the inside of my wrist. Delia has ‘I love him’ in the same spot. That was her idea and I liked it so we got it.
