Christmas tradtions
She doesn't have anyone to spend time with. She tried going to church and found something inside of her choke very how alone she was. The families grouped together dressed in their best made her feel so lonely. Robert had died in the summer and this was her first year alone.
She stayed anyways.
The next year she went back. It hurt still knowing that all she had at home was a TV dinner so on her way back she bought a ham. She ended up giving the rest of it to an elderly tenant in the building she lived in latter when she got sick of ham.
This year she has bruised ribs, stitches in one side, and her hand is gouged up. She plans to go to Mass even though she will still be sore. This year has to be different. She won't be lonely this year. She bought a duck to make for herself and hoped that it would keep her from feeling pathetic after Mass lets out.
