His childhood was like a dream for the first ten years; loving parents, sisters who almost always spoiled him and laughter… so much laughter. He was an outgoing child, full of life and vitality - hopes and dreams. And then something changed. Subsequently everything changed. No one noticed that he never had a chance to recover. No one noticed the pain. No one noticed the darkness. No one noticed him fall and never get back on his feet. The first ten years were storybook. But after ten he wasn’t a child anymore. After ten Derek was never a child again.
