Our lives are filled with small, random events that make us who we are. Every day, most of them pass us by and live on only in memories.
Every once in a while, someone has a camera, and captures on of those moments. The pictures could be blurry and out of focus, they may be stuffed in a box somewhere or hidden on a flash drive that you want to lose. This week, the prompt is to show us a couple of these snapshots of your life.
Bonus RP: Write an open scene involving random photography. Take someones picture!
I'm cheating/swapping it a bit so that we're taking Rachel's picture, but its still someone. ||
Picture "Rachel? Are you going to keep still or not?" Rachel shook her head, pulling a face as she stepped forward.
"Or not."
"That would have been a good picture." Rachel shook her head again, grabbing Daniel's phone and turning it onto him.
"Why do you need a picture?" Quickly taking a picture Rachel smiled at it, slipping the phone into her pocket before Daniel could try and take it from her. Mostly Rachel didn't mind having her picture taken, as long as there was a reason for it. Daniel hadn't given her one, just asked incredibly nicely and had tried to.
"Why wouldn't I need one?"
"That is not a good answer." Rachel sat herself on the grass, waiting to hear something better. When needed she could be very stubborn, sometimes a little too stubborn but if she heard a good reason then she wouldn't mind, not really.
"Okay..." Daniel sat himself with her, thinking for a little while. "Firstly so that I can show off who my girlfriend is and two..." Daniel put a finger to Rachel's lips when she started to protest at his reason, smiling at the face she pulled at him.
"Two; because I'd like a picture of her, for when she isn't there. Because she's beautiful." Feeling Rachel's smile Daniel took his finger away, a little surprised at the light kiss she pressed to his cheek.
"Thank you." Daniel smiled back, taking the phone from Rachel when she fished it out of her pocket.
"Are you going to keep still this time?"
"Of course." Rachel grinned, standing back up from the grass and giving a mock pose, waiting patiently and happily.
PROMPT #2
It's the end of the world in your reality and everyone is being sent to shelters, rockets, whatever. You're only allowed to bring ten items, excluding clothes, so what do you decide to bring to pass the time while the bombs are dropping, wind is blowing, aliens are blowing things up, and zombies are biting?
1. While not an item my mom. I wouldn't let her be left behind and no doubt she'd already be there, I'd want to be with her.
2. Again not an item but my boyfriend. For the same reason as above. I want the people that I love (& like a lot) with me safe.
3. My iPod, for a case of emergency. No doubt the battery will run down, but its something to fill the silence.
4. The book that I started and didn't finish, to pass the time and to finally see how it ends. If we don't make it out I'd like to know.
5. My special coffee.
6. & a thermos full of it.
7. My bear. It's the bear that my mom got me when I was very little, the first time that she had to go away for work. I was sad so she bought me the bear and made it smell like her so that I'd feel safe and so that it'd remind me of her.
8. The scrapbook of things that my mom helped me make when I was little. Its got a lot of special memories that would be nice to see but also I don't want it destroyed.
9. Some cards. It may not be pleasant in there but it doesn't have to be entirely sad, and they can help to pass the time.
10. While not an item; love and hope. Love for the people that are there and hope that everything will be okay when we leave.
