S is for...spiritual!

"Too many of us want to see our way through before starting new enterprises.  If we could and did, from whence would come the development of our Christian graces?  Faith cannot be plucked from our trees like ripe apples.  After the words, 'In the beginning' comes the word, 'God.'  The first step turns the key in God's powerhouse, and it is not only true that God helps those who help themselves, but he also helps those who cannot help themselves.  He can be depended on at all times."

- Mrs. Charles E. Cowman in a beautiful biography that she wrote about her husband

I had such a lovely run today - felt like God was treating me to truths and giving me time to listen and pray - such a blessing as I found myself falling this week (for the five-millionth time) into comparison and thinking I need to earn something to be worth something.  Ick!  I long for the day when Jesus returns and that will no longer be a temptation!

Loved this sermon too:

It got some cool points for mentioning a prof at Duke whose door I used to always walk by when I was working in the Enviro Sci building.

love and blessings to you!
