Derby.....
I am a big horse racing fan. If any of you know horse racing then you know what happens this weekend!!!!!!! The first race of the Triple Crown begins. The 134 running of the Kentucky Derby is on Saturday and I am pumped!!!! I truly believe that horse racing was invented by people with ADD!!! This sport is perfect for us ADDer's because the whole race is less than 5 minutes long!!!!
Seriously though, watching the race is a part of our family tradition. My dad got me hooked onto horse racing the year Sunday Silence won the race. Ever since then I have been hooked. I am proud to say that I have passed on this addiction on to my family. My husband even took the day off this year so that we can have a mini derby party with just us and my dad!!!
After the Santa Anita Derby, I decided who my 2 top picks would be for the Kentucky Derby win. Colonel John and War Pass. Both can trace their lines back to the greatest racehorse ever known, Man O War!!! However, today I had to change one of my choices because War Pass has been scratched (removed) from the race due to an ankle fracture. So I'm browsing for a second choice today and I finally settled on Eight Belles. Fillies usually don't run in the Derby because they have their own race the night before called the
Kentucky Oaks but its not totally unheard of to have a filly run in the Derby. She's fast too, she clocked in as fast as Colonel John.
So there you have it...my prediction is Colonel John in 1st place, Eight Belles in 2nd place, and just for kicks I pick Pyro for 3rd.
