Neighbors June and Jim Visit Our Beach House!
What a nice day we had!
I wasn't feeling well last night, so I did keep us both up quite late -- Marilyn always sits up with me when I'm not well (she's so thoughtful that way). We were awake until after 3:00 a.m.
Anyway, I felt better this morning, though I did skip walking into Seaside with Marilyn when she went and hung around here at home, instead.
June and Jim arrived around 3:00 in the afternoon. We gave them a tour of the house and then visited. Then we all went to eat at The Lumberyard Rotisserie & Grill. Marilyn and I haven't been there since October 29 -- even though it's a fave place for us. We'd planned to go there for Thanksgiving, but couldn't get reservations...
June and Jim seemed to enjoy the restaurant as much as we do -- and we had two of their Lumberyard Slammer drinks (Island Punch Pucker, vodka, Blue Curacao and margarita mix served over ice in a souvenir Beach Bucket), big enough for two people to split! So June and Jim had one and Marilyn and I had the other. They were very yummy!!! (grin)
I'm mad at myself that I didn't take photos while we were all four together -- annoying!
After dinner we came back to the house and visited a bit longer before they headed for home. Very nice time!
Marilyn and I drove all the way over to Fred Meyer after that. Freddies is around a 25 minute drive each way from the house here in Seaside, which is why we do most of our shopping at the local Safeway store (most people in Seaside do, by the way). We went hoping to get peppermint ice cream (not able to get it at Safeway) -- but Freddies didn't have it, either (!!!), I'm sorry to say. Odd to see special displays and areas marked for an ice cream they don't have available. Clearly they didn't know how popular it is this time of year and didn't have enough on hand. Too bad!
We did get some other things, though, before heading back.
Our friend Rosanna is supposed to come by tomorrow. And now it looks like sister Sue will be coming with both Nicole and her boyfriend Ulises on Sunday (and she won't be staying over, after all -- which is okay). We did invite others to visit while we were here, too, but I think that's probably not happening, as we haven't heard anything else. This is pretty social for us, having this many people. (smile) But it's nice to have others enjoy our beach home. We're very proud of it...
Repeat on Jay Leno (The Tonight Show) -- Hugh Jackman is appearing. Don't think I saw it the first time around, though. Hugh is always a good interview and fun to listen to, anyway...
Well, off to get in my jammies and read my Kindle -- time to relax. After all, I didn't get much sleep last night, plus no nap today. So I'm tired and ready to snooze. (grin)
