Annoying Day -- Remote Desktop Issues...
Okay, I spent way too much time today (as well as yesterday) trying to make it possible to use Remote Desktop to connect to my new computer at work.
The work computer is running Windows 7 (Win7).
My computer at home is running Windows 7 (Win7).
You'd THINK that would make them really compatible, wouldn't you??? Of course, you'd be wrong! Ironically, Kris even came in today and had supposedly 'fixed' this issue. As I told him, I'll believe it when I'm actually remoting from home -- which is not going to happen, clearly.
So, as I also told him, the new computer might as well be a pile of garbage, because that's how useful it is if I can't use it to remote to work.
The only good thing is that I've hooked up my OLD work computer -- running Windows XP, thankfully -- on another part of my desk at work. I can remote to it, happily. So that allows me to do what I need to do...
I guess the question is, why have the Win7 work machine at all, in that case? I'd be better off with a machine that was running WinXP...
I may have Kris totally reformat these machines, because I'm about fed up with wasting my time on this. I've got better things I could be doing!
Marilyn and I had leftovers for dinner -- from the chicken I got on Tuesday and her lunch from today (with Vern). And I'm sipping my McDonald's Frozen Strawberry Lemonade that I bought the day before yesterday. Yummy! I really love them...
I was posting this entry when my computer crashed! So though I'm finishing the entry on Friday, June 24, this was my Thursday blogging.
