Fucked. Yeah, Pretty Much.

As most of my friends know, I don't generally use strong language in my blog. But what the hell, I'm feeling pretty fucked right now, frankly...

Dentist?

In spite of my abscess and pain, I can't get in until next Wednesday (in the morning). That's a week from tomorrow. I'm sitting here feeling the fever burn my body, which is totally from the infection. Does that suck, or what?

This pissed Marilyn mistressmarilyn off so bad that she made me phone them back so I could find out about getting more antibiotics. I was going to phone anyway, and ask about pain pills. (sigh)

I phoned and asked if Mary (my dentist) could call. Shannon asked why, so I'm doubtful I'll get to talk to Mary. Probably Shannon will just phone back. (big sigh)

Hairdresser?

I really (really, really) was hoping I could get a spur-of-the-moment haircut tomorrow (as my bday is Thursday -- and I need a cut really bad), but Dorine has been sick with the flu, so that's a no go. Interestingly enough, she can fit me in next Wednesday (in the afternoon).

It's not her fault. But she works very limited days, so it's not like I can go to her any day of the week. (She's semi-retired.) I got pretty spoiled by my old shop, where they would almost always take me same-day, believe it or not!

Gutters?

Well, I could barely talk to Sandy about that, because even though SHE phoned ME (back), she had to cut the conversation off to take her mother to work. Um, okay. But why call me if you can't talk?

Hopefully I can get Hector to get us the replacement garden hose (Dad bought us the current one that his yard guys ran over -- and we've no clue what to get -- so I'd like them to do it for us), because he can't do the gutters without the hose! And they really need to be done.

Last night the rain was pouring over the sides of the gutters. Which is bad, as we've already had dry rot in the wood directly below in the past... (big sigh)

In other NEWS...
  1. (I've done one load of dishes) I need to do another load of dishes
  2. I need to do MANY loads of laundry
  3. I want to clean out the fridge
  4. I want to do some cooking (make a casserole, for sure)
  5. I must color my hair today!!!
  6. I need to clean house
Yes. NaNoWriMo -- and being sick for weeks prior to that -- did take a toll.

What the hell, something's gotta give, right?

Marilyn and I also need manicures in the worst possible way (but I just wasn't up for it yesterday), so we'll have to go one evening, I guess.

We do plan to go to the local Portland NaNo wrap-up party next Saturday (December 6), that runs from 3:00-6:00 p.m. It should be fun! People are asked to bring non-messy finger foods to share, along with a five minute reading from our novel. Plus our NaNo stats to share. And there will be some $1 raffles, I guess. This is different from the other local NaNo things we did, which were only for our part of Portland -- but not the entire city. Speaking of which, from the NaNo official stats:

The top 10 wordiest regions this year were...
  1. Seattle
  2. Maryland
  3. Germany and Austria
  4. Los Angeles
  5. Holland and Belgium
  6. Chicago
  7. Twin Cities (MN)
  8. New York City
  9. Portland (Oregon) -♥-
  10. London
So, as you can see, Portland was number nine! Way to go, city I love. (smile)

The NaBloPoMo theme for December is THANKS, so each day this month I'll try to include something I'm thankful for -- or an example of the word 'thanks.'

I'm thankful:

I have a really good dentist, whom I love. I know she'll take care of me (eventually!).

I love the way Dorine cuts my hair -- and I was in a bad way when I lost my last hairdresser (who had to leave the shop I go to). She even wished me 'Happy Birthday' today, poor dear. (She's thrown out her back and has had the flu, so...)

I love Hector and Sandy. They feel like friends, not just our yard service. I'm sure they'll make sure I have my gutters done, and not just my yard. The hose was the guys -- not them. (And it's sure a break not to have to rake my own leaves!!! I love that.)
I just wish I felt better right now... But I'll live.
