Just a quick aside: I used to be a lousy speller. Terrible as a child! I carried a small dictionary with me all during high school (and part of the time in college, too). But as a adult I'm pretty good. Far from perfect, but I rarely ever need to look up a word (and hardly ever use spell check). But I STILL DON'T TRUST MYSELF to spell things right! Hahaha. I still look up random words -- I just did the word 'aerobic,' for example (and it was right, but I didn't trust myself...). Anyway, that's an aside.
Well, this Marilyn Monday was a totally quiet day -- yes, again. We stayed in all day long. Until late tonight, that is!
Marilyn and I decided to rent a movie On Demand today. We ended up getting "
Snatched," the 2017 comedy film with Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn. IT WAS AWFUL. Beyond awful. One of the worst movies I've ever seen awful. Not kidding.
I guess you have to be an Amy Schumer fan and really understand her humor to enjoy it at all, because it had some positive reviews, which astound me. Call this the anti-recommendation, I guess. I wanted to like it, I really did. But if this is what movies are coming to, I'll stick with the really old black and whites we've been seeing.
What Marilyn and I think is delightful that there are so many movies from the past that we've never seen before! There are a lot of really GOOD movies out there, anyway! "Snatched" just isn't one of them.
Mondays are ALWAYS SPECIAL in the summer, because of American Ninja Warrior!!! Marilyn and I just love that show!!!
I was Tweeting during it. I don't spend much time at Twitter, but lots of these wonderful ninjas are there. And Twitter is easy and fast when your attention is actually on the TV!
I saw part of "
Starring Adam West," this morning. Documentary filmmaker James Tooley spent three years following Adam, meeting his fans and trying to understand the passion of the man who was then in his 80's (it was made in 2013). The interesting thing? It was a fan-funded effort! This would be worth seeing again (the whole thing)...
My blood work appointment is now for Friday, August 18 at 8:45 a.m.
This Wednesday is Jeff's birthday. Marilyn and I will need to go tomorrow night after work and find something to give him (and get him cards).
It was a nice, quiet day, anyway. Watching TV, playing on our iPads and napping. We can certainly use the rest.
Talked to sister Sue during American Ninja Warrior -- which is always nice!
Marilyn and I got a text from Rich about our friend Ron who passed -- I guess he just heard about it.
We forced ourselves to dash out to shop very late. We managed to go drop off bags at the BottleDrop, rush back to shop at Freddies (we only had half an hour before 11:00 when they close and were done by five 'til), then into St. Johns to shop at Safeway, too! We were home by 11:15! How about that???
We did a LOT of shopping. We needed everything from cat food to toilet paper. Lots of 'heavy' items like cases of bottled water, cases of Diet Pepsi and Coke Zero and large bottles of bottled water (we use to make coffee and give water to the cats in their big bucket). Plus bagged peanuts, rye bread, kitty litter and on and on. We always call this quickly done shopping aerobic shopping. But any shopping that puts you in a sweat can fit that bill! Clothes shopping is generally always aerobic shopping. Hahaha.
Time for bed soon... Sweet dreams!
I had FASCINATING dreams today! I always think that much dreaming is a sign of good sleep...
