Training Allison -- An Evening With Candee and Roger

Mar 21, 2017 23:59

Training Allison went WONDERFULLY! She's a brilliant young woman and we were on the same page about so many things. Amazing. Her training was done by 12:30. She's such a lovely girl. She was a Metro princess back in 2013 and is attending Linfield College (such a good school). I'm looking forward to working with her. (She's our princess intern for this year, and was from Tigard High School. She also won a volunteer award that year -- with 900 volunteer hours!)

It was a nice day -- very sunny during the day! No rain was so nice when we went out for Starbucks and when Jessica and I went out for lunch later on (she and I ate in Marilyn's office).

I came in to today's princess bio, by the way! Hard to believe I let it go to the last minute! But got it done in time, thankfully. I finished the final one this afternoon, so my role in the announcements is done.

Tomorrow are the announcements for the Metro princesses. I'd like to go, but it's difficult to know if the training will be done in time. (I can never tell how long it will go, as each person trains at a different speed...)

Donn was in today and replaced all the power strips in each location with brand new surge protectors! He's been pushing for this for years and we finally got it done this year! (woo hoo)

I never spoke to Kris, but I'm assuming he got the data migrated as planned. I'll call him tomorrow to check in. He still has more Server work to do, as well.

Braden and Najib are calling like crazy. I hope they start getting a bunch of sales. They're such nice guys. I really like them.

After work tonight Marilyn and I went over to Candee and Roger's house. I'd never been there before. It's a wonderful, old historic house that was in the family of Abigail Scott Duniway (!!!). In Oregon Abigail is as the 'Mother of Equal Suffrage' (and the pioneer Woman Suffragist of the great Northwest).

We had drinks and hors d'oeuvres on their amazing front porch. They live in the Leslie M. Scott House, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

We had a delightful visit and stayed longer than we'd planned. Then we finally headed home, stopping at McDonald's to get sandwiches (as Marilyn had again barely eaten all day long).

Tonight we had those for dinner, plus popcorn after, with a pot of coffee...

Time to head for bed, as we have another busy day tomorrow! And Marilyn is going to the Newsmakers event tomorrow night. (She has something every single night this week.)

I'm forgetting a lot, I'm sure. But I'm done in, so good night!
