Just taking a moment to mention that today is cousin Linda's 60th birthday!
Marilyn and I phoned her this evening to offer her our wishes, and are planning to do something with her to celebrate soon.
Happy Birthday, Linda !
As for the rest of today, it was VERY QUIET. We snoozed, watched TV and played on our iPads. Oh, and I read my Kindle, too. Very nice and relaxing...
No. I didn't color my hair (it really needs it). We didn't go shopping (we need to). We didn't do any yard work (we want to cut down our front bushes). But oh well! We rested and relaxed and it was LOVELY. Everything that needs to get done WILL get done, in time.
Oh! Almost forgot to mention that we watched a couple of George Sanders movies today. The first one was "
The Gay Falcon," from 1941. We're both big George Sanders fans. Interesting aside, Marilyn's former hair dresser was actually his daughter-in-law at one point. (A sad note: George Sanders killed himself. He suffered from dementia and had a stroke that prevented him from playing the piano. He was seriously depressed and had an unhappy personal life.)
We love old movies so much. It was really fun watching those films today...
We had DELICIOUS leftovers for dinner! I heated up the acorn squash I made recently, and made more roast beef hash and cooked kale. So we stuffed the squash with cottage cheese, the hash and kale. It's so good it's hard to do the food justice when describing it. Yummy.
I also made a pot of white rice and we each had a bowl later (after dinner). We actually enjoy just eating some rice with a bit of soy sauce for seasoning.
