Errands (sigh)

Well, we (finally) got Marilyn's new phone set up. She's had it for ages, but it's such a pain to transfer everything from an old phone.

We both pretty much hate the latest version of iTunes. They just keep on changing and changing iTunes. Apparently the goal is to make it impossible to ever learn how to use it, because as soon as you know how they CHANGE IT yet again. Hahaha. And I didn't much like it to begin with...

We also went and got new manicures, even though it we just got that done recently. My damn nails were a mess. I just needed a full set, rather than another fill. And Marilyn really wanted to be wearing RED nails for our Rosie Rally next weekend. (I got a French manicure again -- but this time with pearl tips, which I really love.) I had Jenny (the shop owner), and man, does she every HURT YOU when she's ripping off the old nails. Oh well. The good news is that it's DONE!!!

Very hot, muggy day. Yuck. Sister Sue has no air conditioning in her car now, so she was really suffering when she was out driving.

Marilyn had a dinner to attend tonight. So she needed to go downtown and pick up Jeff (they were both going), then drive there. Here's where we did something VERY STUPID. And I mean mainly that I did something VERY STUPID, because I'm the one who knows better!

Marilyn had her new iPhone plugged in to iTunes and was downloading the latest IOS. So she took along her old iPhone. At one point I'd told her to take my phone, but I should have insisted. And here's why: The minute the guy turned on the new phone, the old one no longer works as a phone (duh). So taking it along is just a waste of effort.

Anyway, Marilyn was in TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE traffic on her way to get Jeff! She was at least 20 minutes late getting Jeff -- but she had NO WAY to reach him and let him know, because she didn't have a working phone! She had no way to let me know what was going on, either (obviously). When she finally got home at around 9:45, she hadn't phoned me on the way, because she couldn't.

We're really attached to our phones. But it makes sense. Having these phones is a safety measure when out driving -- especially when you're a woman driving alone at night.

(Of course, they're good for just being out walking, too. I don't even walk up to the corner store without taking mine along in the evening. And I like having my phone when I'm taking a bus somewhere, too! But I digress.)

The traffic going to the dinner was awful, too. Marilyn said she and Jeff were at least half an hour late. Very tense and frustrating for Marilyn, anyway. But the dinner was nice (they had steak).

There were some other errands today, anyway. And today was National Lazy Day!!! So we should have goofed off all day long. Hahaha. (Ever notice how EVERY day is a holiday now?)

I guess that's pretty much it for this Marilyn Monday.
