Well, this entry is all about Fitbit -- and how inspirational it's been for Marilyn and me!
Since getting our Fitbits back in January, our lives have really changed in a positive way! It's all about walking and hiking and getting our daily steps.
Plus Lent gave us the benefit of better eating, as it often does. Yes, there's a religious focus, but I think God and Jesus would appreciate the fact that we're treating our bodies better (our temples).
I found a new Amy's brown rice and veggies bowl that I love even more than the original one, so now I have two versions to pick from. I'm not becoming vegan or anything close, but I do love these meals.
I was doing so well on the treadmill today that I walked more than an hour. Then I decided to walk on it a second time. I was so close to reaching the goal of 70,000 steps for seven days that I just had to go for it! That also meant I was number one among my list of people. Yes, this is all just for today, but it's still exciting! And Marilyn made it to 61,000 for seven days! (In both cases we're over those amounts, but the point is that we made them. I'll give exact numbers for today below.)
My hip was really bothering me at one point, but right now it doesn't even hurt. Of course, it's hard to say how it will feel tomorrow! Hahaha!!!
Today was the Kick-Off event for the festival. Things are in high gear at work, obviously.
I was supposed to put the Mother's Day pimpage News item Live last night, but I forgot. But I HAD posted it, setting it to auto-publish today. And it worked! So when I went to the computer to publish it, it was already done! A cool surprise. I'd forgotten to do the excerpt-sticky thing, though, so I did go in and add that...
Happy Earth Day! I made a special graphic for the festival to post at Facebook, that Mariah used. And our local news station did a piece on the festival being Clean and Green (we have an amazing record of environmental responsibility -- which Marilyn has been very involved with from day one), and Marilyn appeared in it. Very cool bit! Marilyn did a good job.
Thanks to those who contacted me to offer good thoughts and/or prayers for Jim Jim, Donn and June and Jim. I really appreciate your kindness!
I still haven't talked to June, so I have no update on Jim Jim as yet. More to come soon, I hope! I hope to hear that he's out of pain and it's nothing too serious.
I also haven't talked with Donn today, so I don't know if he got his results, yet. (He hadn't heard yesterday.) Hopefully he'll hear soon (if he hasn't already), and the news will be good.
The plumber phoned today. The appointment set for tomorrow had to be changed until Friday. It's now for 2:00-4:00 on Friday... I just want to get it done.
I have a large cat scratch on my left leg. Henry didn't mean it. He snagged me a couple days ago when I was giving him his pill. And my right foot has a sore on top from my sandal strap rubbing it raw. That sucker really, really hurts!!! It's the little things that can drive us nuts.
Haven't finished my book, yet. It's been a delight to read, though.
"McKenna's Gold" was on tonight. Marilyn and I love that old film! Talk about an amazing cast. Wow.
Off to do my hair now.
Fitbit Update: Marilyn did 12,802 steps today. I did 13,433 steps. We're really working it now, that's for sure! Go, us!
