Marilyn and I were at work by 7:30 a.m. and home by 7:30 p.m. You can do the math. (smile)
And what a busy day we both had!
I wasn't even planning to go to work today -- I had expected to go to sister Sue's to work on a computer for Candy. But I changed my mind first thing this morning. Good thing!
I got in and immediately had issues with my Outlook email. I started in trying to fix it. I spoke to Kris briefly just before 8:00 a.m. -- he was headed into training that would have him tied up until 10:30 or 11:00. What I found out just after that call was that the ENTIRE OFFICE was down for email! (sigh)
Marilyn and I headed over for Sue's doctor appointment right after she got out of her first meeting of the day. I sat in the waiting room while they went back. Happily, Sue had a very good report today!!! Marilyn and I are both really proud of her and pleased by these results.
Then it was back to the office. We now knew our PHONES were also out (!!!). I'd told Jeff I was skipping Staff meeting so I could research about the situation -- and I did exactly that. I keep hunting and trying things -- and I finally managed to discover more details about the situation! When I talked to Kris at around 11:00, he was rushing off for another meeting -- but I told him my info and he planned to Remote in and check things out.
Marilyn and I took a quick break to go get Starbucks (which I'd planned to do first thing and hadn't had time for).
When we got back Kris had FIXED the problem! We had both email and phones! He was my hero (as always) -- but I got to be a hero, too, for my part in the work. Not a bad thing, considering the work I put into it.
Marilyn had a lunch meeting, so I took Christine for Chinese to celebrate the results of the IT issues. We had a lovely time. (Funny thing? Marilyn was at the same restaurant with her group meeting about the Auction. Funny, huh?)
The rest of the day I worked getting my email under control, doing website updates and taking care of some other IT issues.
Oh! Marilyn's email STILL wasn't working -- and I was able to fix that without Kris' help, I'm glad to say...
Marilyn had nominating late in the day, so we were there for some time. My allergies were giving me fits all day (!!!), but I'm dealing.
On the way home from work we picked up deli Chinese for dinner (no cooking!). Now we're both ready for naps! We went to bed late last night and neither of us slept that well, so we could certainly use the sleep!
What else?
I did take time at work to phone June and chat with her. I'd planned to go and see her today, but obviously that didn't happen. But we had a lovely long talk, anyway...
Time for a nap! Can't wait to snuggle up with my Kindle paperwhite, a good book and my cat. It's a NASTY day and perfect for being wrapped in blankets.
Oh! I almost forgot! I also spoke briefly with Rich, who seems to be doing well after his hernia surgery. I'm so glad! And I really miss him. He'll be back at work next week...
Now I have to decide whether or not to go to work tomorrow. I've got those 'new' monitors to start processing, so I really could work on that project.
Say! I got the newest version of NoteTab Pro today -- version 7.1! The festival paid for it for me. I thought it would be $40, but it ended up half price, so it was only $20. I haven't had a new version in just YEARS AND YEARS, so I'm really happy about it! My version before 7.1 is 5.1 -- but I usually use the older 4.95, believe it or not...
By the way, this is one of the most amazing softwares I've ever used -- and I highly recommend it! I couldn't have begun to do all my website work without it, that's for sure!
