It was stolen today. If you follow the above link, you can read all about it, and how I feel about it -- and see some pictures of it, too

I saw your post on FB too, and am so sorry for your loss. :(
Yes, it is just a "thing" but is something that holds many wonderful, positive memories for you and I know you are heartbroken. I suppose you do have to try to put a positive spin on it and hope that the person who took it just really needed a bicycle and I, too, hope that's the case!
Did you recently hear/read about the young lady (a 20-something) whose bicycle was stolen in Vancouver? She got it back by finding a listing for it on Craigslist and when she met with the guy to "buy" it she rode away with it after asking for a quick "test run"! I thought that was so awesome, though like those in law enforcement have said, while it worked, it was still a risky move on her part!
Anyway, I do hope you can somehow get it back, and if not, as you said at least you still have the memories and the pictures, and no one can take that away! My orange 10-speed bicycle was stolen when I was 8 years old (I had purchased it with some savings bonds I had received) and though it was recovered intact (we lived in such a small town and being as it was orange it wasn't difficult for the local police to find *LOL*) I felt so violated! More recently we had a Santa malibu light cover stolen out of our yard during Christmastime and though it wasn't a huge deal I still felt wronged, like,"Who does that person think he/she is, coming into OUR yard and taking OUR things??"
Anyway, enough rambling! *HUGS* to you, Charlie! ♥
