Errands and a Movie...
We actually got a lot done today...
Marilyn and I went and got our manicures done first thing today -- something that really couldn't wait. I took along my OLD Kindle, because I didn't want to get the dust and stuff on my new Kindle...
Sister Sue came to our house and met up with us so we could go to Sauvie Island to pick green tomatoes. Marilyn asked if they were available, and was told they were 'across the dirt road' (which usually means a certain spot). We've been going to Kruger's Farm Market for years and years, so we're familiar with all the spots where they plant tomatoes, even when they rotate fields.
We walked way (WAY) out, next to the corn maze -- but did NOT find tomatoes. We walked back, and I went over to ask Mr. Kruger himself about where the tomatoes were located. Their 'up the hill' this year -- which is nowhere near where we were sent to begin with. Chalk up a long, long walk in a LOT of heat for nothing.
But even though he wasn't really ready to sell green tomatoes (or allow u-picking yet), he let us go pick! Pretty nice of him! And he told us to drive up there and save the really long walk.
So we got tomatoes and zucchini and some more corn (we've been eating a lot of corn lately). Sue paid for a bunch of the green tomatoes so she could take some home with her.
As a matter of fact, I just finally took the time to carefully WASH AND DRY (dry very carefully!) all the tomatoes and zucchini, so we can put them in the fridge to make them last longer. We should have some good messes of fried veggies soon!
It's supposed to be HOT (!!!) this week, but we'll manage, even so...
Forgot to mention, we three went to Starbucks after getting the veggies...
Later Marilyn and I napped, then went to the show to see Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" -- which we really enjoyed. Not as good as the first movie, but still good! (I tried to originally link the official movie site, but it was taking FOREVER to load, so I ditched that idea. Typical Hollywood: The movie sites are a pain and rarely want to load!!!)
We just got back minutes ago from running out to get ground coffee for the house (we were totally out!). Can't live without being able to brew a pot when we want one...
Work tomorrow. The meeting I was supposed to be going in for isn't happening now until later in the week (Thursday???), but oh well. I have other stuff I can get done, that's for sure!
And I have my dental appointment at 12:30 -- Marilyn is taking me. Hopefully to get my filling fixed...
Can't think of what I might be missing, so that's it for today...
