Your reviews are so lovely! Thank you! I'm glad you like the series. Iseult comes from one of my favourite Arthurian legends: Tristan and Iseult.

If you haven't heard of them, they're a bit Guinevere/Lancelot and a bit Romeo/Juliet. If you have, ignore this part ^_^:

Tristan was a Cornish Prince and Iseult was an Irish Princess (at the time these two places hated each other). An Irish leader held a tournament, and whoever won would marry his daughter Iseult.

Tristan went over to compete in the tournament in the name of his King.

Obviously, Tristan won and took back Iseult to marry the Cornish King (who was actually a nice guy, almost like Arthur but not quite). Iseult's mother sent a maid to accompany her daughter and a 'special' wine. The wine had a love potion in it. Iseult's mother was worried that because the Cornish king was older, Iseult would be unhappy in the marriage, so the potion was meant to be drunk on Iseult's wedding night with her new husband.

On the journey back to Cornwall Iseult and Tristan became good friends, she was thirsty and unbeknownst to both of them, they drank the wine and fell in love.

There's a lot of stories about these two, mainly about how they manage to hide their love and see each other secretly.

I picked the name for Ami because of the secret love thing and because Iseult and Tristan were often almost caught, but she was always clever enough to get them out of trouble. (At one point they were caught though, and from there it spirals into a long tail of tragedy, but never mind that).

Argh, I feel so silly now. I do know about Tristan and Iseult, only Iseult is spelled Isolde in my native language so I didn't make the connection.
I did rec this series on my LJ, I hope this is okay?

Haha, no worries, there's loads of different names for them anyway. What is your native language by the way?

And reccing my fics? OF COURSE! (although I'm now seriously blushing!! THANK YOU!) You've made my week (which is something since I've got a nasty exam week coming up!)

I hope you're feeling better! No more cycling in the rain from now on ^_^

Nasty exam week sounds nasty, but if you study half as well as you write, you shouldn't have any problems. *gives you the thumbs up*

My native language is German, but I do love English. I also tried to learn French and Spanish, but boy, those are two very difficult languages...

The rec is up, I'm happy that it made you happy, these fics really deserve some spotlight.

Wow! That's so cool! My German consists of Es tut mir leit, ich habe keinen anung? I'm not even sure that's right ^_^ You're writing is in incredible, let alone it being in a second language!!!!!!! (I am now making wide eyes of awe).

And thanks again for the recs!!!!!!!!!! ^_^

The fact that I'm majoring in English Lit and lived in the UK for some time might have helped with that :) But thank you so much for the compliment, it makes me so happy!

The spelling is not quite right, but the mistakes are teeny tiny, so maybe you have a hidden talent for German? It's "Es tut mir leid, ich habe keine Ahnung." Where did you learn that sentence in particular?

Another one to keep in mind is this one:
"Mein Name ist CharlieChaplin2 und ich schreibe wunderschöne und sehr traurige Geschichten."
Which means: My name is charliechaplin2 and I wrote beautiful and very sad stories.
*grins*

Wow, I would send you something back that's equally complimentary but the es tut mir sentence was my German limit ^_^ You're so lovely you know that? ^_^

Actually, I'm used to the Isolde spelling as well and didn't realize that Iseult came from that until I read this (and English is my native language) so thanks for asking!

I think Iseult is the older spelling... But I'll check, now I'm actually interested when the different names were used, I know there were two main authors... Here's the link to the Ami/Zoi one, hope you enjoy!!!!
