I'm still feeling completely immersed in everything Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. It's just one of those films. And I'm so so happy it's doing so well in the UK. I'm sure it'll do well in the rest of Europe too. Can't be sure about the US, though. It is rather different in its tone and pace.
For me, it feels like a film which on first viewing (I do plan to see it again when given the opportunity) is visually extremely satisfying, both with the cinematography and just watching the actors be amazing. On second viewing, I imagine I can concentrate more on the plot.
Furthermore, this film has such potential for fandom purposes. Don't read further if you don't want to be spoiled.

Because in making Peter Guillam gay (or at least having a live-in boyfriend) all sorts of things are possible. He obviously has a rather volatile and passionate relationship with Ricki Tarr - lots of feelings involved, at least. Making their relationship a very interesting one, in terms of slash. I DEARLY want to read good fanfiction about those two. And I do love Tom & Benedict together in every way.
I really, really do. And I LOVE the way Tom Hardy gives out hugs. Here to Gary Oldman and Benedict Cumberbatch. ♥ ♥
So I'm crossing all fingers that people who can write will want to write about Ricki Tarr and Peter Guillam. :D
