It's all about the boy

I left most of fandom behind me on my trip, even though I did bring my laptop, and we did have internet in our room. But not much time to use it that much. Some parts of fandom followed me, though. On my flight over there, there was a choice of watching a Van Gogh documentary from BBC with Benedict Cumberbatch. So I did, of course! It was terrific stuff.

I brought my laptop with me in order to have some entertainment, in case I felt like just staying in a few nights. So I'd loaded it full of shows and movies to watch. And I'm glad I did. Because then I could keep feeding my Tom Hardy obsession... First I watched Rocknrolla, which I fastfowarded through after a while, only watching Handsome Bob (and MY is he handsome *g*). I just don't care about watching criminals. But I WOULD watch a whole movie about Handsome Bob and his gay adventures. ♥

Then I watched Wuthering Heights. It's strange, I've read the book and seen film versions of it, but I never remember the story. Anyway, Tom looks ... completely unattractive here. It's perfect for the film that he looks like that, all pale and scary and brooding. But if I'd never seen him before, I wouldn't find him attractive in the least. I'm not even sure what it is - apart from that hair, of course. Maybe he was a little more fleshy then? It's a good production, though, even if it's a surpremely depressingly bleak story to begin with. Tom is awesomely intense, I can't believe how much he puts into his roles, it must be completely draining.

Watching these two movies, I noticed something about Tom that I hadn't before. What is wrong with his little finger on his right hand? He can't seem to straighten it out. An old war wound? Or what?

Yesterday I watched Inception again, at home this time. Yay! I'll go out and buy it as soon as I can, but it was fun to watch it again, and to really penetrate those precious little Arthur & Eames scenes. I've got to say, the rumours of Eames ugly clothes have been greatly exaggerated. It's mostly that first get up which looks horrid, and then he was probably just trying to fit in, in Mombasa. He IS a forger, after all. He blends in. And I love how the few times Eames smiles, is when he's teasing Arthur. Aww! I'm nowhere near tired of this fandom, I tell you. I still want to know much more about Arthur & Eames and their adventures in dreamland. I'm particularly intrigued by their possible backstory, seeing how much time they take to tease (Eames) and be annoyed (Arthur) with each other.
It's also very striking how beefy Tom looks in this film, a bit more so than I prefer. I like him best when he's just beautifully lean. And to not leave out dear Arthur & JGL, he really does look strikingly good in all those nice suits. Such a pretty boy. No wonder Eames can't leave him alone. I had to make some caps... :)

This is what Eames looks like when he talks about Arthur. He may be calling him names, but check out that smile... Those are fond memories he's thinking of, I'm sure.

And here's to prove how smartly he can dress, when he wants to, in order to blend in perfectly. Who knows how he'd dress if he thought no one was watching?

Arthur & Eames first scene together in the movie. Eames is being smart, Arthur is seemingly surprised and thus impressed. Eames thinks he's condescending. But still Eames obviously enjoys the attention. :)

Rinse, repeat. Eames is again being extra smart, and Arthur can't look away. Eames smirks and flirts. They're obviously in love. *g*

See how nicely Eames can dress when he tries!

More flirting! Eames simply can't leave the boy alone, even as hard as Arthur is trying to ignore him. It's like they're in high school and Eames is pulling Arthur's pigtails. ♥

And again, look at Eames beautifully matching attire.

Also, in the dream he looks smashing. Whose dream is this again? Arthur's? *g*

I love how in this scene, Arthur ask if Eames is all right before all the others. He sounds quite frantic about it too. Aww!

Seems Cobb wants to be intimate with Eames too. Arthur is jealous...

This is one those little things I love about Tom's acting, the way he says 'hey, hey, hey' in this scene, to Cobb is just so beautifully subtle. He really does know how to use his voice perfectly.

And he also goes about looking all pretty. Mmm.

Arthur agrees.

Now, that classic scene. It really is something. Arthur's bewildered face, Eames' calm, that improvised little 'darling' starting a whole fandom. It's brilliant.

Eames can't stop flirting with Arthur, can he? In every scene, it's there.

Eames mentions the 'lovely lady' he's done before, with such a wonderfully cheeky smile. Is he throwing that one at Yusuf or Cobb? Did he use her on one of them?

Eames and said lady. It really is awfully interesting how he can do both females and males with no effort. It's wonderfully queer. I love how pleased he is with himself.

Such a lovely little exchange: 'And I will lead them on a merry chase' Arthur says, to Mr Eames' obvious merriment. He looks ever so pleased. It's the most adorable thing.

Eames looks like a pretty idiot in that hat! Ha! Still adorable, though.

Without the hat, though. Mmm.

Arthur puts on the music to wake Eames from his wintery dream. Think of the time Arthur had to watch him sleep!

The flirting between Eames & Arthur just seem to increase with each viewing of the movie, doesn't it? ♥

I did watch some other things while away as well. For instance, I've been watching a few episodes of Downton Abbey, one of those wonderful British period shows which they do so brilliantly. This is a really good show, indeed. Beautifully acted, meticulously done and interesting plot. I also watched the crime drama Thorne, starring David Morrissey, but also with Aiden Gillen, playing a rather angry forensic doctor who's also gay. Aiden's part isn't that big, but he's awesome. :)
