Interview with Jensen - in perfect German

Apr 24, 2010 12:46

Here's a new interview with Jensen! It's in German, though, and I'm not really that great with German (even if it IS fairly close to Swedish), but here's what Google translate (and then 'enhanced' by me) tells me he says. It seems this interview was conducted just a little while ago, when he was at some press junket in Beverly Hills. Most interesting piece of news, for those interested in the gossipy side of things - he's getting married in Texas! (From here. Please, you who actually speak/know German, do contribute with an accurate translation. That would be terrific, thank you!)
For five years he's been on the road. Together with his on-screen brother, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles hunts in "Supernatural" all over the United States and chases the evil back to hell. The two handsome ghost hunters have already sent many a demon back to the fires of hell. It's a tough job. But the 32-year-old really doesn't look like he's doing such sweat-inducing work at all when he shows up for the Interview in Beverly Hills. "I hope you have questions prepared," he laughs. "Otherwise it's always so unpleasant. I'll just be sitting around, humming a song..." Obviously, a joker. Due to the good humor he has. In the summer though, there will be the most important day of his life.

While his Supernatural colleagues are doing a number of conventions this spring, Jensen has other plans. "I will marry this summer," he says. "So I have my hands full." Jensen will bring his longtime girlfriend actress Danneel Harris (opening may 13, she appears, next to Jennifer Lopez, in "The Back-Up Plan"), to the altar. "At home in Texas," he adds, far from the bustle of Hollywood, and close to the circle of his family.

The fans will probably take this with mixed feelings. For after the wedding of Jared Padalecki in February this year, soon the second of the "Supernatural" boys is off the market. Even though their fans on the internet like to rave/gush passionately about the hot "Hell's Angels". "I don't read those things," insists Jensen. "I've been told about it, though, and I thought to myself that it's better if I completely ignore the whole thing. I'd rather focus on the reality."

In any case, not only young girls rave about the Texans. If one is to believe Ackles, the series is particularly loved by older women. "I am often approached by 16-year-old girls who say, 'My mother loves you." "How nice!" That's an understatement. For Ackles knows perfectly well that Supernatural causes ecstasy and pleasant shivers of horror for old and young around the world. The show's been on for five seasons and a sixth will follow, and this at a time, "when even series with big names are cancelled after only three episodes."

So numerous celebrities are fighting over guest spots on the successful show.
In 2009, Paris Hilton appeared. A pleasant encounter? "She came. She was professional. She knew her lines. I think we were all pleasantly surprised. I know actors who aren't," laughs Jensen, the "hotel heiress" was also quite nice. "There is definitely a Paris Hilton and a real Paris. She plays a role for the public. It was nice to see."

Jensen loves his own characeter too much to abandon him, even after five years. "Dean is always in a bad mood," he laughs. "So I don't need to be like that after work, I was already miserable all day." He likes heroes who aren't perfect - like Han Solo or Indiana Jones, not James Bonds. "You save the girl, perhaps not in the most gallant manner and you get wounded and shot at, but at least they have a lot of fun doing it."

He admits, however, that he sometimes long to shoot new projects with new people. Supernatural, however, doesn't leave much time for that. In 2009, the star of teen shows like "Dawson's Creek" and "Smallville," starred in the horror film "My Bloody Valentine". He is now an expert in that field and not as easily scared any more, "Scared of horror movies?" he laughs. "No, in the genre, I've been pretty successfully desensitized. Now I look the whole thing, not as a spectator but as a critic. When a movie scares people so much it makes them jump, I think to myself: 'Oh, nice. I have to remember that!"

In any case, Jensen doesn't believe in supernatural phenomena. "I am a realist. If there's a sound at night somewhere, I won't suppose that it was a ghost." Now, however, the "Supernatural" creatures are on a biblical level. "This goes in a completely different direction of faith. Heaven and hell, God and the devil - I can not allow myself to make a judgment on that."

Hmm. It's understandable, at least. But not pretty. Not like Jensen. *g*
