For all the good people who have/are in the process of downloading the lovely thing that is Queer as Folk UK from me and are new to that "fandom", I want to give you a little fanfiction tip. If you want to "know" what happens after the show ends, you must read all of
kormantic's
QAF stories. Particularly The World's Biggest World. (As you'll notice the link doesn't work, because it seems her site is down. I do believe it's coming back soon, though!)
Not only is it one of my favourite stories over all, but it's also the perfect follow up to the show, since it ends with a lot of questions left unanswered. When you've finished watching and find yourself hopelessly in love with Stuart & Vince, go read those. She also just wrote the very lovely SGA-story
400 % which I can highly recommend. Brilliantness all around!
Speaking of SGA, am I the only one who hasn't seen
these little films (taped from the audience) of Joe Flanigan answering questions at ComicCon last year (last year? Right?)? It's great! I love seeing him in action like this, and hearing his own words - rather than what people remember him saying. He's so cute. (Although, be warned, the dreaded are you descended from the elves question is there... He does handle it very graciously, though.)
On Tuesday I went to see Josh Rouse live. I haven't really listened to him that much, but he was quite lovely. The opener, Howie Beck was hilarious, though. Not as interesting music, but really, really funny. He got the whole audience to clap in intriguing rhythms and then people just couldn't stop clapping that way for the rest of the evening! It was very funny.
Yesterday Amazon brought me the following things:
- two albums by The New Pornographers
- Citizen Cope's The Clarence Greenwood Recordings
- Brokeback Mountain DVD
- the new Stargate Atlantis DVD (yay! I love that these drop in about once a month).
A final yay! for JC in glasses. :D
