The weather sucks...
And you can't keep the damned kids indoors.
Seriously, it's ugly outside. Depressing drizzle, dark sky, cold and windy, lightening occasionally on the horizon. A good old fashioned Houtsonesque miserable day. And all my students are so excited they can barely stay in their chairs. This place is weird.
And the frightening thing is, I kind of agree with them. It's pretty nice. But I have an excuse - it reminds me of home, where there's real weather patterns.
The other effect of rain here is that it reall fucks up traffic. It's such a rare occurence, everyone's scared shitless. Seriously, this is nothing more than a drizzle, but there are cars doing 25 with their hazard lights on. And the windows rolled down, so everyone can get their arms wet.
