Oh, Friday Night Lights. How much do you own me!!! But I really need someone to
slap Julie Taylor upside the head for me. I'm so freakin' sick of her whining and crying over Matt's new girlfriend as if she is somehow the wronged party here. The poor little victim being mistreated by big bad Matt and his new girl. Puh-leaze!! She cheated on him! She dumped him!! Matt would still be with her today, still completely devoted to her, if she hadn't done him wrong. And if she hadn't realized what a sleaze ball the greasy haired Swede really was, she would still be humping his leg without a second thought to sweet Matt.
That said, I don't care for either of Matt's new potential romances. I don't think the cheerleader likes him as a person but just likes the idea of dating the Panthers QB1. She's a Lyla Garriety wannabe. And by "wannabe" I mean that she wants to be like Lyla/Jason were. I believe that Lyla genuinely loved and still loves Jason, but she was also a little caught up in the whole high school fantasy of Pretty Cheerleader & Star Football Player. This girl just seems to want that whole "perfect high school couple" theme. She'd have gone after anyone as long they'd upped her social standing at school. I'm also not liking Matt and Carlotta. Between them, Julie/NewTeacher, last season's fling of Tim's -- do the writers have a problem with just a basic high school romance? LOL! Kids dating people who are actually their own age where no one will get arrested for statutory rape?
Speaking of Tim, he needs to get over his snit about his brother and WhatsHerName. Sure, their romance is in pretty poor taste, considering. But moving out of his house and going to live with some creepy stranger is not a bright idea. I loved Tyra and Lyla having to work together on a project. Tammy rules at life -- "You're not going to use Jesus Christ our Lord as an excuse not to help me, are you?". Bwa! I'm creeped out by 15 year old Julie and her TEACHER getting so close. Not going to end well. I miss Tyra/Landry.
Mama Smash is awesome!! I see her point and Smash's point, too. She's right that he should put his education first and not rely just on his football talent to be his future. But I don't blame Smash for wanting to go to a school were his talent can get noticed by the NFL. But he's being foolish thinking that the NFL is a sure thing for him. You'd think he would know better based on Jason. Jason certainly didn't plan to get hurt either. His whole future was right before him. Notre Dame, the pro's, his happy ever after with Lyla. And one bad tackle and a broken neck later, he will never walk again. All his dreams gone and he's left to redefine his life and future.
I really like the Santiago kid. He can stay. My heart broke for him in the final scene when Buddy was apologizing for how small the spare bedroom was and for the kid having to use the bunkbeds. Then Santiago said it was the first real bed he'd ever had. *Sobz* Poor kid. I like that Buddy is taking him in. Sure, it's mostly because he wants the kid to be cleared to join the football team. But he's also doing a very good thing for the boy. Buddy Garriety, you're not such a bad man after all.
The next new episode looks amazing with Landry finally confessing. Oh, poor boy. :-(( Why he and Tyra just didn't call the cops from the start is beyond me.
Has Heroes' Peter always been so freakin hot? I don't remember him being this sexy in season one. Maybe he's like Sam Winchester, gets hotter every season? Mohinder is still my main lust puppy, though. And I'm thrilled that the show seems to be getting its groove back.
Then there's my SPN boys.
I may or may not have cried this last week. Several times. Dean entrusting the future of Metallicar with Sam? *Sobz* Sam just wants his brother back? *Sobz some more* Good-bye to Gordon. It was time for him to go. What a twist of fate, though. That he ends up vamp'ed after all his time vampire hunting. Maybe Sam can get a little peace without Gordon and his crazy Hunter friends on his case.
And then there's Spooks.
It's a sad day when I start liking Roz more than I do Adam. Someone, please, take the Stupid Pills away from Adam! He's on the verge of an overdose on them as it is. I don't think national security can survive his furthered use of Teh Stoopid. Jo made it through a whole episode without getting beat up. *Iz impressed* Will someone please go find Zaf already?! Adam wasn't this stupid before Zaf went MIA. And, OMG, Methos is in next week's episode! Oh, Peter Wingfield, how I love you! You'll always be Highlander's Methos to me.
Finally, some Nuke spoilers for next week!
Noah and Luke will confront Win before he's carted off to prison. *Soap Opera Miracle Recovery Alert*Things get so heated that Luke stands from his wheelchair and proclaims his love for Noah! Whee!! They later go to Thanksgiving with Luke's family and get to show off Luke's Soap Opera Miracle Recovery!
