De-winterizing the Sprinkler System:
Our lawn is looking quite scraggly and overgrown at the same time. So we finally got around to getting the sprinklers up and running. Kostas and I went through the whole process and everything looked like the instructions, so we turned on the water. It was making too much noise, but there was no geyser so we thought we were good. Then we walked around to the other side of the house to find another two apparent sprinkler holes overflowing all over the yard. After a dash to the basement to turn the water off, we spent a half hour scooping water out with coffee mugs by flashlight until we found the second valve. You'd think they'd put all of the valves in the same hole in the ground so you wouldn't miss one. Or at least mention somewhere that there are two.
Luckily, everything seems to be fine now. Here's hoping none of the electrical connections are fried!
