The hallway of the hotel was long and boring and fluorescently lit, like every other hotel Charles had been in - and that amounted to quite a few, considering his recent career choices. He sorted through the keys in his pocket and opened the door to his room first, dropping his valise just inside. He looked up and down the hall, making sure nobody saw him, before pulling Camilla's key from his pocket and slipping, ghostlike, into her room. Carefully he checked the door, making sure it remained unlocked - not much point if she couldn't get in.
No lights; he didn't want them. He found a chair in the dark, and waited.
