Bit of an update

For those that aren't currently on Facebook.

Still in Jacksonville and still job hunting. Savings is holding but really need to find something within the next month here or I am going to have to turn the search somewhere else.

July/August was an interesting time, I took a road trip to Spokane, WA to be an extra in a movie called "The Knights of Badassdom". The experience was fun and honestly has gotten me thinking of the possibility of doing that kind of work more often although maybe a bit closer to home. I can't say too much about the experience due to an NDA, but I can offer this link to the website for some bits of info http://www.knightsofbadassdom.com.

Next up was Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando where I got to work with Warwick Davis again. There is not much to say about this man other than he is a real class act and very friendly. This time around he didn't have much in the way of programming so we spent a good deal of time on the convention and dealers room floor.

Of course the first weekend in September brings the big daddy of my convention season, DragonCon. This year I was handling Edward Furlong (Terminator 2) and it was a blast and a half. He was a great guy and seemed to have fun with meeting the fans. The highlight of the weekend with him was explaining SteamPunk to him as he was watching all of the costumes in the Walk of Fame.

So now I am back at the apartment doing the job hunt and getting my face out to the local and GA extra casting agencies in hopes of getting a gig on one of the many films being shot in the Georgia and Florida area.

I have one decent prospect with an office job in GA that starts in October and sent photos in for an extra gig in a movie filming in Clarksville, GA as well. So currently waiting for calls on those two potential gigs, if I don't hear by Monday on the movie one then I am seriously thinking of heading to NOLA for ICC. Anyone on the old Friends List know of someone that has crash space in one of the three hotels?
