Husband in hospital

BRUCE UPDATE: He's in Methodist. They are draining the fluid around his heart with medication right now. They will do an eco-sonogram either tomorrow or Sunday. From there it gets vague. The young doctor who saw us (who I know couldn't be over 15) was giving us the line that "you're too healthy for the surgeon to do anything on a weekend on a non-emergency basis. We'll probably do the angiogram on Monday and then send you home until the surgeon thinks you are bad enough to do the valve." THIS pissed me off because it was like he didn't talk to the ER doc (who did the admit and thought he was bad enough) and our cardiologist thought it was bad enough to send us to the ER. He almost got a caning right there. Even the nurse in the room was surprised at his lack of manners. I did have a moment of bad behavior, I said as he was leaving the room, loud enough for him to hear, "We didn't choose to come in on a Friday, much less my birthday..." He came back in and wished me a happy birthday. Too late, frog...

We're going to talk to the doctors we were referred to tomorrow when they do rounds. Hopefully we will have better information.

He is having bad shortness of breath, his chest is tight, and he has fluid (congestive heart failure, this doc says but our cardiologist says it's from the mal-fitting valve). The ER doc and our cardiologist can hear missing beats and double beats. We're just in a holding pattern, really.

We have wi-fi in the hospital so we will have the computer capability. I will be taking our computers up and we can keep you posted.
