We are Thankful
Little less than an hour here til Thursday (Thanksgiving). We get to run around making food then eating food then moaning about eating too much food and seeing family and friends. We are gearing up for Friday and madness. Some stores are opening at 3 am. as the Christmas season sales start with Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving). Highly intelligent people stay home. Adventuresome people grab their spears, clubs, credit cards, battle plans and sales advertizements.
But something that a well known columnist wrote was reprinted in the paper today. It is a prayer written by Pauline Phillips (aka Dear Abby)
Oh, Heavenly Father,
We thank Thee for food and remember the hungry.
We thank Thee for health and remember the sick.
We thank Thee for freedom and remember the enslaved.
May these remembrances stir us to service,
That Thy gifts to us may be used for others.
Amen.
