And all that jazz...

Ralph Lauren devoted his collection to the literary classic, “The Great Gatsby.” The runway was dominated by an Easter parade of floral prints and lovely pastel colours. The cloth hats, bias-cut dresses, column gowns, chiffon skirts, flowy trousers and three-piece pinstriped suits epitomized the Ralph Lauren feminine/masculine narrative.

The 1920s were a time of reform, a time of change. Morals were broken, stereotypes were ignored, and the true modern woman emerged. These women known as “flappers” flaunted their free spirits and their fashionable tastes. This spring this period’s unique style are emerging. From Ralph Lauren to Marchesa. And I absolutely LOVE it!

In Ralph Lauren's designs there is a remembrance of the jazz, the dancing, the rights, and the freedom of this past period of history. Can't you just picture yourself in the midst of the flappers as they danced the Charleston or Lindy?
