Gawd, that's awful. I know my 6-yr-old has recently been on a trend of asking "What happens when we die?" ---- and of course, we have to explain that EVERYone has a different opinion (my husband and I are Christian, but my boyfriend is not) and that we can't know... It's really hard. We've had to explain to her *several* times (and to her 3-yr-old brother) that my mom and my husband's dad are "in Heaven" (whatever THAT means!) and it's really difficult. I think, though, sometimes, that at some level they are more connected with the "TRUTH" (if such exists) than we are. Sometimes, I just step back (so to speak) and ask her what SHE thinks... and find myself comforted. Interesting.

(this may be ridiculous... but my daughter really enjoys being online (although her favorite thing to do is play Zelda, hahah!) and I've been thinking of arranging a e-pal (internet pen pal, eh?) for her. Does your daughter write/spell yet? Perhaps they can correspond (with supervision, of course) and maybe it'll be educational/comforting for both?? Let me know what you think!)

I know Maddie would LOVE an online buddy - but she's only juuuuust starting to spell and read. So it's too early for her.
Soon perhaps... she adores having little friends wherever! :)
