I need a new hobby.
I can't seem to keep the online RPGs I create running, and I can't get into playing in these 'crack' games that everyone seems so fond of these days. Nor can I stand to play in games where I have to write five paragraphs just to walk into the room. There are no tabletop games close to us that we can play in.
I tried to create games with interesting plots, characters, and premises. I tried to keep interest in them going. But what can you do to compete with posting a random sentence and having five or six people reply to you almost instantly with inane chatter? I guess that's the RPG wave of the future. When even one of the fellow mods (and your supposed best friend) would prefer to play in this sort of game about eight times a day instead of posting in your game once all week, it's time to just throw in the towel.
So bad roleplayers of the internet world, I salute you. You have won. Games with premise and point are yesterday's news, and I'm tired of fighting it.
Anyone know of a good creative hobby that doesn't involve interacting with others? I can't draw, sew, or crochet all that well - already tried those.
