I used to like the McCain from 2000. Too bad the party assassinated that McCain and put this doppelganger in his place. The Republican party managed to do what the Viet Cong couldn't. Break him. The John McCain of 2000 wouldn't even vote for the John McCain of 2008.
Reading your journal just filled me with the great desire to have a web comic with R2D2 projecting a little lady who happens to be saying "Obama-wan Kanobi, you are our only hope!"
Sorry. Random outburst. They happen sometimes.
I agree, but I'm pretty much liberal enough to guarantee that I'll not be voting republican...ever. I think McCain is trying, he seems to actually care, but I can't support his platform. I don't think Obama is perfect, but I'd prefer him to McCain.
I guess I’m just a crazy Iraq vet, but I don’t see what is so unwinnable in the war in Iraq. I only spent a year there, so I suppose I have a poor view of what’s going on. And since I disagree with the two-party system I don’t plan to vote democrat or republican. Not that it really matters that much because the president has a lot less unilateral power than most people think. I don’t care what Obama or McCain tell you, they can’t change the system by themselves. Power usually ends up in the hands of the people who want it the most, and unfortunately they’re usually the last people you want to have it.
