Endless Summer

So here it is... the very begining lines of the screenplay. Yeah, I figured why not.. I'm gong to do it.

I have no idea if I'm formatting this 100% correctly- if anyone has a resource for screenplay writing I can take a look at, please link me.

Don't be too harsh- I've never done this before. And this is a tiny, tiny snippet - but let me know what you think...

1. THE MEETING

EXT. OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL SORROWS CHURCH - DAY ( Summer of 1986)

FADE IN:

A young girl with big hair dressed in a beautiful embroidered jacket and a pair of bright pink parachute pants is walking down a winding country road towards a CHURCH. An ominous SHADOW falls across the driveway as she reaches the church. She stares down at the shape of the shadow, realizing it is a CROSS. Slowly she lifts her eyes, shading them with a hand so that she can see the large CROSS at the top of the church. She is still, while the voice over speaks...

SUMMER

(voice over)
Summer knew she wasn't eternal. She felt the remaining days of her existence poignantly, saw reminders of the finite nature of life in the most ordinary of signs.

SUMMER lifts her arms up and out to her sides, to mirror the shadow of the cross. Fascinated by the symmetry, she begins to wiggle her fingers in slow and deliberate patterns.

SUMMER

(still in voice over)

She is imagining her limbs as spiders, her fingers the spinets, weaving unseen threads that connect her to the god she never knew....

Suddenly she drops her arms, laughs, spins around a little and speaks, aloud...

SUMMER

Summer is thinking of herself in third person again.
