So in my constant quest for free stuff, I've gotten a lot of free subscriptions to men's magazines like Stuff and Maxim . Usually there's at least a couple of articles in these I like reading- things about games, or music, or whathaveyou, but it's annoying to have to flip through pages of scantly clad women and stupid to get to them. Womens magazines are even lower on actual content- the Teen Vogue that I get (equally free) for the girls is so vapid it's sickening, and full of some really bad you-must-be-thin body image stereotyping. It's kind of disgusting, but I digress. Today I got my first issue of yet-another-free-mag - a men's magazine called Giant.
Not only does this one have a much lower scantily clad to content ratio; this also has very entertaining and quirky articles that I'm enjoying reading. Little featurettes like Five Favorite Amazon.com Lists (one of which is If You Like Rashes), and contests like Win A Shitty Prop, and articles like "Terrible Toons" which lists Looney Toons propaganda films made during World War II are really neat !
So far,my favorite free mag score has been Blender. This one comes in at a close second, though.
