My good friend
Kara crawled out of her sickbed today ( she's got strep throat, owie) , to leave me this "gentle " reminder to post even though she's sick and hasn't been reminding me to:
Subject: You know...
I had a feeling that me being sickly and not onlineish would mean you
would forget to post... POST DAMN YOU! POST!!
:P'
Hehe... okay, I think I get the picture here. I'm posting! =)
To my credit (maybe), I -meant- to post three or four times. But without the Kara-reminder, I never actually made it to open the program and do the post thang.
I got a check for my writing yesterday. No matter how many times that happens, or how much the check is for ,it'll still be somewhat thrilling to know that someone has exchanged currency for my words.
What makes people think that I like them enough to recieve forwards from them? I wouldn't want forwards from people I do like 99% of the time. Yes, mail with a cute little snowball war, or a guy mooning his cat, or a survay with 999 questions may be funny to you- but odds are, I've either seen it before, or don't care.
Reciving over 100 pieces of email per day that actually do require some form of attention means that I usually get slightly miffed to think 'Hey, there's mail from my friend _______" then open it, and find its just a forward. If you know me well enough that you see or speak to me on a daily basis, ask if I want to see a forward first. Please. And if you don't.... why are you sending me this crap anyhow?
For example.. I got mail from someone I have never spoken to, about "Special friends", or some dying child, or someone's cat's hairball, or some such.. I don't remember exactly what right now. Turns out this person was on a mailing list, and decided it would be soooo much fun to express her dim-witted apreciation of forwards by hitting the "Reply to All" button.
The reply to all button is a very evil and dangerous thing, and should be used sparingly, if at all, and only for things of importance. And it usually nice to do a little thing called... BCC. Blind. Carbon. Copy. I don't give a rats hind end who else got annoyed with this forward. I'm sure they don't care to know that I' m on the hit list, either.
Ahem.. sorry.. had a little bit of a rant to get out there. I'm in a foul mood since Aus's dad has buggered off AGAIN to get laid or whatever for the weekend, which means Aus is pretty scrwed as far as transportation to work goes.
His father is acting like a very irrisponsible teenager, and its getting on my nerves extremely.
Our guild is up to 596 members. This is a good thing, but keeps us busy. Heh.
Um... other news... there is no other news. Deal .
See I posted? =P Now if I could just remember to do this on a regular basis. Ooh, and Aus even posted.
Get better soon, Kara! We love you. =)
