I've got sunshine, on a cloudy day...
The big tropical hurricane is pretty much missing us. There's a lot of clouds though, and some rain.
Early this year I worked for about a week or two on this small area of a project that involved getting ready some demo results to show we could figure out a fairly tough aspect to the problem if the government was willing to give us money for it. Most people on that project were working in other areas. It was no big deal. Run a few programs, check out a few results, change some parameters. Anyway, we got the funding for the next phase including the research for that new aspect of the program, and I just got a bonus check from my company for my work on that. It wasn't huge, but it was a complete surprise because I had worked on the project so briefly, and in such a peripheral area to what other people were doing.
