So, very suddenly got the call that brother was home from war. Went to meet him and that's where I've been all day. Now, bed. Because I'm tired beyomg my ability to say.
*glomps* Yes, it went well. We only got one day notice, so I wasn't planning on going because I had to work, but my boss pretty much ordered me to take the night off.
Three hour drive and then a lot of waiting. It was boooooooring for most of it. Sitting in an auditorium waiting for the plane with the other families, then excitement watching the plane fly in and land, then more waiting, then excitement watching them exit the plane and picking him out of the line of men and men-boys with identical uniforms and haircuts over a camera projected on a gymnasium wall (he was the one with the Stupid Little Smirk) and then we waited some more for them to debrief and gather luggage and load dozens of them on buses and drive over to where we're waaaaaaiiiiting.
The military band was fun to watch and listen too. Also, so many hotties there are on a military base. I wish I had been more awake to appreciate all the fit man flesh. I certainly enjoyed all the contrasting skin tones. I love diversity. ♥ So the waiting could have been worse. Oh yeah, and I've never seen so many boobies come out to play. Poor little things must've been missing their men something wicked bad because between pushup bras and no bras in plunging neck lines, there was an embarrasing amount of cleavage. I'm honestly amazed I didn't see any nippies.
So finally, three or four hours later, they all come in and line up in pretty rows (the one officer looked like he had OCD making sure they were all symmetrical) and after a brief speech thankyouverymuch they released him and we got to take him home for the day. His ego is gonna need deflating a bit but he has three sisters so that won't be a problem. Other than that and his girl troubles, he's seems just fine. We're all going to the beach over the weekend and we'll get to spend some time with him there.
