Slept quite badly last night, a crazy man stared through our window, was seen and the police were called, all while i was in bed. The doorbell made hektor bark and disturbed jura whom in turn woke me up. Then my mum got up earlier than me, waking jura and ruining any benefit of me getting up before her (because i can see to the dogs she doesnt need to get up for ages). Once jura was awake she woke me! Much more tired than i had hoped despite waking late...about 6:45. Nothing too exciting on the olympics today which is good because I was trying to focus on racing.
Got sandwiches to take care of eating and drank plenty water all day. The forecast was terrible but I took a risk, dressed up reasonably warm but not totally mental, put my yellow top over my long sleeve top that i usually wear on its own. Knee warmers and waterproof overshoes completed the look. I accessorized with glasses and a helmet, no gloves. Instead of a warm up i stayed in the car, meaning i didnt cool down too much, it was reasonably effective. Only 5 people turned up but the weather was scarcely drizzle and very little wind so lots of people missed out.
Time: 27minutes 58seconds
Avg H.R: 184bpm
Max H.R: 194bpm
Pretty pleased with the time actually after all that resting. Thats the highest H.R. Ive ever had, I thought my max was 193. I felt pretty good racing except when i was nearly sick, recovered well though and thats not a bad time for wet roads. Next week is OASC but the TT is off for non-club members anyway (its run by St Christophers and im in Glenmarnock Wheelers) so im not missing anything. The week after the race is on the A77, my favoured training route, which is flatter, a better surface and much less demanding in terms of corners so Im expecting a really fast time. I have time to do some good training for that too. my aim is 26-30 or less.
