Shut Up and Be Happy?

Tonight my mom and i went to two infrigment festival shows. The first one was this awesome peice about an "Ape man"'s disgust with human mannerisms, amuesments, and judgements. It was called, My life as an Ape, and I highly recommend it.
Then we went to a Happening at Squeaky wheel, where we were lined up, given sheets that told us not to talk, laugh, giggle, or scoff, and duct taped in small blue squares in very close quarters facing each other. Then the presenter turned on the HEATER, shined projectors through us at the wall, and told us to pick up and pass around these photos from the Media, while she played static-y radio, and duct taped us more if we moved. I figured we would have to look at the pictures for a while, and then we would do something else, but no. We had to look at the pictures the entire time, which was a little too Cliche for me. Too many people just Cut and paste news articles, tell people to look at it and say that it's art. Ok. I get it. I've already accepted the fact that we live in a strange world, but like she said, we should just shut up and be happy. Now, If she had gone for being cliche, that would be something different, but she was too focused on how horrible life is. But the fact of the matter is that we were 8 very hot, very sweaty, very much in pain people looking at pictures. Then she played this music that was like "The US is now under marshall law, stay in your homes, do not attempt to contact loved ones, at dawn each day Urine samples will be taken, there is a 7 o clock curfew" and stuff like that. And that REALLy scared me. That was the only part of the entire thing that had it's intended effect upon me. but it was still really interesting.

And I am totally jealous of the cast and crew of Hush, for getting to go to the biggest Fringe Festival.

I hope you see lots of graphic shows, and have a really good time.

Cheers
