I've decided to follow Michelle and Berfy's lead and give a bunch of quotes from one of my favorite movies. Mine, however, have different themes because I am a dork. They're all from the same movie though. If you're one of my sisters, and you don't want to read the whole thing, at least scroll down and read the last three.
Quotes about girls
"Over the mysteries of female life there is drawn a veil, best left undisturbed."
"We bare our souls and tell the most appalling secrets."
"Feminine weakness and fainting spells are the direct result of our confining young girls to the house, bent over their needle work, and constrictive corsetts."
Quotes about boys
"You don't need scores of suitors. You only need one, if he's the right one."
"Someday you'll find a man, a good man, and you'll love him and marry him and live and die for him."
"Well it's not like being stuck with the dreadful nose get. One does have a choice to whom one loves."
Quotes that I find funny
"Doesn't he have a noble brow?"
"Maybe he has a secret. A tragic European secret."
"I wouldn't marry for money. I mean...what if his business goes bust."
"I'll never have suitors. I'll just be a dried up old spinster."
"What game were you playing?"
"I don't know, but I think I won."
"It can be murder to go to college."
"We're very much obliged to him, but he's a dreadful boy."
"Blast these wretched skirts!"
"I'm going to write this man a letter."
"A letter. That'll show him."
"Don't sulk. You look like a pigeon."
"I won't have a sister who is a lazy ignoramus."
Quotes that remind me of myself
"You should have been a lawyer, Miss March."
"I should have been a great many things, Mr. Mayer."
"At night my mind would come alive with voices and stories. I gave myself up to it longing for transformation."
"We'll all grow up someday, Meg. We might as well know what we want."
"Myself I'd sooner be hung by the neck than attend a fancy ball."
In case you didn't know, all of these quotes are from Little Women. When I saw this movie and read the book when I was little, I don't remember which character I identified with. I never would have guessed that when I got older I would identify with Jo the most. I'm not really a tomboy, but I am certainly not a...girly girl. I may not be a writer, but there are definitely stories that are sitting in my head. Not normal stories. Stories that I want to be a part of...that I want to transform into. That may make no sense, but I understand it.
Quotes for my sisters
"I feel stronger with you close by."
"But don't let the sun go down upon your anger. Forgive each other. Begin again tomorrow."
"I could never love anyone as I love my sisters."
