It was unlike the Lord of Ravenshire Court to be up at dawn. It was more unusual, that when he walked out of his room to find that accursed woman sitting upon a balcony. The pale-gold haired woman that seemed to be a curse ever since she arrived on the wings of a marriage proposal. What a thorn in his side she had become!
Now, perhaps it was curiosity that possessed the raven-black haired male... or perhaps it was annoyance. He stepped forward, gently rapping upon the window beside her to alert her of his presence. It seemed that one false move upon his part would cause her to plummet to her death... Or serious injury. That, with no doubt in his mind, would cause a war.
She turned to him, slightly. What a lovely creature even this early in the morn. Though--the Black Prince didn't find her lovely at all--just an annoyance.
"Only my servants are up at dawn. Might you come from a different background than royalty?" He meant to be as insulting as he sounded. This man was not the type to mince his words for the sake of a lady.
'Then why are you up, then?" Her response was as polite and sweet as ever; perhaps there was no 'off' button?
"I never sleep." The flicker in her eye showed him that she didn't believe him.
Her gaze flickered to the sky for a moment. "...I suffer from what the physicians call 'insomnia', m'lord." She was about to add to that, but he didn't let her.
"What a pity." Sympathetic? No.
With that the Prince turned to leave, yet he was slightly startled to hear a loud 'Wait!'... Then... was that a scream? It was more like a bird's shrill cry for a mate--pretty, but off to come from a human woman. He then turned around in time to see her falling. At least she was removing herself from him...
Now it was a surprise to hear, "I think... climbing trees quite helped..." Oh if only her knights were around to help her. Unfortunately she had sent them to bed. Without Lord Rayden's men around, nor her own, she was quite stuck hanging from the ledge... With a very weak grip.
Rayden, he walked over and leaned over the ledge. Looking down at her with quite the expression that told her she was a moron, he extended a hand to help her up. More so he was saving his own ass from a war than her own from death. This man felt like a babysitter looking after a spoiled little rich brat of a child, and she was said child.
Leanne didn't take it at first. "...You're not going to fling me to my death, are you?" What a strange question to come from such a happy creature. She actually thought about something so dark? Hm. Her eyes even showed her hesitance to take his hand--perhaps he was that frightening to her after all. Why didn't she leave then?
"That privilege is better suited for one who deserves it."
"...You have death in your eyes. Why would I not be suspicious of murderous intentions?"
"Then why did you come here on the whim of a marriage proposal, to someone you've yet to understand fully?" His tone was quite harsh, by her slight wince it seemed that it had hurt like a blade. Hopefully something like this would scare the fair maiden off.
"...I follow my father's orders." Hesitantly grasps the hand. "...Don't touch the nails." There was something in her eyes that held a secret behind why she had said such a thing; yet he didn't care enough to investigate it further. Women were quite bothersome creatures.
He'd only roll his eyes as he pulled her up. "Only the weak willingly become puppets."
When he had her on her feet, there was some lack of emotion at the clinging female to his form. Her fingers dug into his clothed flesh, looking to the balcony--where she had almost died. The grip tightened. The prince of this land preferred to... stay there motionless until she released him from a surprisingly strong grip.
"Mm... My brother said the same thing, once..." Her voice quite. He took that as to remove her from him (roughly), and walk off.
She was a speedy one, he had to give her credit for such. Places herself before him with a polite curtsy. "Thank you."
All he did was turn the other direction, yet she was there within a moment, her lips pressed against his cheek. Then? The woman just ran off like a blushing school girl. What was her problem?
With that Rayden walked off to whatever he felt like doing to take his mind off the girl who he had saved from death at dawn... "How bothersome." Is all he'd speak on the subject of this woman.
This was going to be a long negotiation.
