[Pepper throws a very flour-ridden rag into the sink for later cleaning and turns to smirk at Tony, smoothly sidling up to Bruce and slipping an arm around the scientist's waist with a smile.]

I told you he'd wake up.

[Bringing his own up and over Pepper's hand, he can't help his own wry look. A free hand up with a shrug, he sighs with a fond exasperation.]

Should have known you'd be right, Ms. Potts.

[Tony surveys the scene before him through tired eyes, uncertain what exactly he's just stumbled into.]

Did you guys make a pizza? Without me?

We did, and we planned to eat it without you if you didn't come down soon.

[That's a lie, she wants to see how he'll react.]

[Tony scoots closer, sneaking between the two of them so he can rest his chin on Bruce's shoulder.]

[He turns his worried gaze toward Bruce.]

Did I break something important? I haven't touched your lab in at least a week.

Pepper pats Tony's side in an effort to be reassuring.]

[Aww, but he was working on his act. Breaking the calm state, he shakes his head and laughs easy, expression reassuring in every aspect.]

I was just going to say that it's date night.

[Tony groans into Bruce's shoulder.]

God, I thought you were going to tell me that you two were eloping and taking the Stark fortune with you or something. Don't worry me like that.

We don't have any plans to warn you when we do that. [She gives Tony an incredibly innocent smile and pulls away to head for the fridge.]

One of you get us some plates. [She says one of you, like there's a chance Tony might, but they all know Bruce will do it.]
