1/04/06 Happy 60th Birthday Syd Barrett!!!
Age 3
Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett turned 60 this past Friday. Syd was the founder of Pink Floyd, having made the first album with them, and mildly contributing to the second album before being expelled due to his increasing mental instability brought on by a mixture of schizophrenia and LSD. He also released two solo albums and a few rarities albums after leaving Pink Floyd, before becoming a virtual recluse. Pink Floyd went on to be huge, writing many songs about Syd and dedicating several albums to Syd and/or his elements, such as Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall. Syd now lives in Cambridge where he paints and has from what I hear a very healthy garden out back.
