Poet W.D. Snodgrass has died of cancer.
Years ago in college, my ex was the editor of the English department's student magazine and he came to our school to give a reading.
One morning I answered the phone and a gentleman asked for her.
"May I ask who is calling?"
"My name is W.D. Snodgrass."
And that's my story.
I could not make the reading or lunch due to work, but all accounts had the event as a success.
