Random life recap

I have been more nervous before slams or open mics than this. Honest.

It did take me a couple of poems to get a rhythm going. I thought the longer pieces were stronger but my haiku was spot on. I used a bottle of IRN-BRU as a crutch and prop, to good effect. Had some decent banter which stretched it out. Not sure if it went on too long or too short, but was releived when it was over.

The set list:

The Boy and the Wagon in the Backyard
The Way of the World
Johnnie's Tavern
Onkyo Rosebud
Your Ex Boyfriend
Woods' Haiku
I Love You, but I Can't See You Now
Old Mother Hummell
The Big Gamble
Indiana Jones Can Kick Iron Man's Ass

None of this would have happened without lostpositive

It was a good night. I was giddy. Thanks again to Joanna for asking me to do the gig and picking some clever hockey or poetry trivia questions. Also the WB crew for all their support. And a good summer solstice crowd at Kafe Kerouac.

Came home to find out R.J. Umberger got traded to the Blue Jackets. It's an upgrade at center and they drafted Filatov. Now they need to pay people and possibly overpay Brian Campbell to come here.

I wake up; jungle_goddess and nsingman send me a present. Thanks you two!

Emma got N. to bed around 10. He woke up about four all chatty. He's asleep now.

Today is lazy day.
