i think it was pointed out to me that glen hansard, who plays the guy, was in the commitments. this movie had that kind of a feel, along with that of an unrequited love story that is more than a musical, more than a love story. it's a handcrafted film with some improvised camera work that is much more profound that it seems.
this one is going to stick in my mind for quite a while. really great songs that advance the story and john carney gets performances out of some first time actors that were quite effective. and dublin looked lovely on film.
