Congratulations New Zealand!
Thank you for your your open minds and beautiful hearts that has allowed us to become the 13th country to legalise same-sex marriages. I've heard mixed reactions to the 77-44 parlimential vote in favour of recognising marriage equality in this country, some think it's a show of overwhelming support in passing the bill, some are dissapointed that 44 members decided to oppose the law change, but in the end who cares? We did it.
We stood, we fought, and we got change.
I hope this new law brings happiness for many people. This has always been a country that has stood by the minority, and I'm glad that it stood by them again this time.
Speaking of which ...where was the sense of equality in
I don't know how I do it, but I somehow managed to relate gay marriage to Sexy Zone.
What's wrong with the screencap of Sexy Zone's latest cm for their 4th single Real Sexy/ BAD BOYS? I'll give you 4 hints, they go Kishi-Iwahashi-Jinguji-Kuan. Nothing against these boys who are being pushed like crazy at the moment, but why would THIS scene be chosen to represent Sexy Zone? Why can't Marius and Sou be the ones marching behind the 3 apparent elites?
I've never for a second (not even now) thought that Sexy Zone would turn into a 3 member group. I have never doubted that Sexy Zone will always be 5. Never has the idea of a Sexy Boyz member being added to the group crossed my mind (not even now). Because as much as JE is insane and unpredictable with their decisions at the moment, there is no merit in it for the company to be changing already debuted groups. Us fans are so sensitive to every SC lineup change, and unfortunately for me too, to stupid things like group scenes in a 15sec cm. But for non-fans, regular japanese people, potential fans, if you stick Chinen in a Sexy Zone poster they wouldn't even know the difference. They wouldn't like or support the group any more or less if Jinguji replaced Sou tomorrow. I'm am dead set that Sexy Zone will not change. That being said, it pisses me off to see how much Mari and Sou are getting side lined lately. Grouping them with other juniors and putting them in Crea to give them more chances to perform and grow, I can understand that. What I don't get is why these non-Sexy Zone related opportunities given to them is an excuse to exclude them from what the older 3 do. If New Zealand can come to an agreement for marriage equality, surely it can't be that hard to have group equality within a boy band?
I understand Kisumai are going through the same thing, but in terms of group dynamics, it's also different for them. They have always been a group with the same members. Some have always been more favoured popular than the others. Even though Fuma and Kento were more senior at the time, all the members of Sexy Zone were picked as equal opportunity members when they debuted. Jinguji, Iwahashi, Kishi, Miyachika, Kaoru etc were all there and well known at the tiime, but they picked Sou and Marius. Both of their involvements with the group have been quite substantial until Sexy Summer. I don't even know why this single is being released like this. Give BAD BOYS to Kento as a solo even. Why put such heavy emphasis on the juniors while at the same time leaving out actual members of the group?
If this is a way of promoting the very-unlikely-20-20-group-that-is-to-be-debuted-in-7-years-from-now-assuming-the-juniors-stick-it-out-until-then I'd be even more pissed. Especially if you're sacrificing debuted acts for it.
