[Rose comes into the room nosily, and stops just short of banging the door (not out of anger, just out of general carelessness) before she sees Rukia]

... Oh. Hello. Are you sick?

[Oh, the child... Rukia musters the strength to at least sit on her elbows for her and give her an annoyed-looking blanche]

Something I ate. It'll pass.

Do you want water?

[chappyy]

Mm... that sounds amazing.

[blurryworld]

Okay!

[She races off, and in her hurry, she *does* let the door bang shut this time]

[Rukia winces at the noise mostly out of habit; her head doesn't actually hurt. She thinks the water will help her stomach, too. She'll never eat curried rice again!!!]

[Rose comes back a few minutes later, walking slower this time so the water doesn't slosh over the sides of the glass]

[It's kind of a cute scene, she'll admit, and she even smiles at it.]

I'm used to it. My brother Indigo was sick a little while ago.

[Rukia remembers tending to sick friends, friends like family. It had been scarier then, she decides.]

Oh. Well, that's good. You shouldn't have to.

I mostly kept him from getting bored.

...Sick people do get bored a lot.

But he needed to be left alone sometimes, and not bothered.

Do you need to be kept from getting bored, or do you need to be left alone?

I'm not bored. But I don't think I'm contagious, and I'm even starting to feel a little better.
