Every year about this time, I hear and read people talking about taxes. Here are a few basics, free of charge.

A tax return is the form you file or e-file.

A tax refund is the money you let the government have as in interest free loan that they're taking their sweet time getting back to you.

A big refund is not a good thing. You could have had more money in your paycheck all year.

Rapid refunds are a huge rip-off. Don't do it.
